PIK-7 Harakka II H-50 Muna/Egg

Pics of PIK-7 Harakka II H-50 at Karhula Aviation Museum. This is an aerodynamical fairing for Harakka II.

PIK-7 Harakka II H-45

This is just wonderful example of PIK-7 Harakka II. It is located at Tampere airport (see here) and it is hanging at the ceiling of main waiting area. So if you are scheduling an visit to Tampere check this out. Plane in question is H-45 which has been operated by several clubs. It was built in late 40’s so it is incredibly nice condition when you take her age into account.

PIK-7 Harakka II H-57

Pictures of PIK-7 Harakka II H-57. This is the plane my model is based on.

Taken at Karhula Aviation Museum 2011.

PIK-7 Harakka II H-39

This set of pictures has also an amusing history. We were enjoying aerotow event at Wredeby Airfield. Which is rather nice airfield near Kouvola etc. Due hot day I was cooling in hangar and I noticed an fuselage of Harakka II hanging from one of ceiling supports. It is H-39..

Glider open @ Torbacka 18.-19.4.2015

Another fine day flying at Torbacka. This time it was ‘Glider open weekend’ but propably due weather there were not so many gliders present. Weather was cloudy, little wind, +4c. No rain!! Great.

As normal company was great and there was even birthday party. Congratulations to Samu & great event and I have to admit that hot cafe was life-saver!

Turku Aviation club / Loimaa aviation club pictures 1957

Here are couple old pictures of Turun Lentokerho / Loimaa aviation club. These come via Esa Passila. Many kind thanks.  Rather interesting pics as I have not seen totally red PIK-7 Harakka anywhere…

Does somebody have more pics of PIK-5 / PIK-7 in their fleet? I know that they had also white PIK-5, but no information regarding the markings of that.

Pic’s of Mikkeli aviation society history (MIY)

Here are couple fantastic pictures from Mikkelin Ilmailuyhdistys (MIY). Translated loosely to Mikkeli Aviation Society. These pics have originated from album of Pentti Pohjanvirta via Sakari Silvennoinen.

I think that these are truly wonderful for many reasons. One of being that they have not been published before this, at least to my knowledge. There is similar (but different) set of pictures of same time period at Mikkeli Airport history pages, but I cannot find link of that as the pages are currently offline. Also, there is not so many building pictures of classic sailplanes in internet, so these are rarities.

Pictures show building of PIK-5b (OH-PAV) and couple flying pictures of PIK-7 Harakka II (H-47 / n.5).  You can find new pictures of same planes at iwaru.fi/galleries.html

If you have further information of person / planes in pictures pls. contact us, tuootal (at) iwaru.fi, I will update captions accordingly.

Also, if you have more historical pictures of PIK-range of planes pls. send them to us, we will publish them.

Harakka III finalized

Got 145-Harakka III (1/3) just finalized. This beauty will be put to building queue, I just need more time.

This turned out rather nice. Tail is box-structure and the lines are much more elegant than previous Harakka’s.

(I really and I mean really should try to start learning wordpress, I simply cannot understand those gallery functions…)
